A few things I've learned after moving from a desert metropolis to a small (and I mean very small) town in the mountains: 1. It's best to shovel snow off your driveway BEFORE you drive on it if possible, or it will smash into solid ice and be much harder to scrape off. 2. If you post a picture of said driveway and make a joke about it taking eight tries to get into your garage because of the slippery ice, you will come home to a snow-free driveway plowed by an anonymous neighbor. 3. When you are going through one of the hardest times in your life and feeling judged by people who don't bother to try and understand what's really going on, you'll get a random text from a friend and neighbor who also has no idea what's going on telling you how awesome you are.
